Shrine On!

thanks Lynn, I STILL have the song in my head. :)

So, I am WAY late on getting them shipped out, but they ARE headed to the post office in the morning (even if there are a few last minute touches left) and WILL be there before the actual end-of-the-month deadline. Phew! I was getting really nervous for a while.

All this one:

needs is a title & then it will officially be fini'!

And this one:

just needs a bit of this, a little that & a decision - skulls or no skulls (I did add some black details to them since this photo was taken); definitely doable before the pillows call.

Thank you for all the encouragement - it has been a huge help.

Here's hoping that all of the efforts of the contributing artists raise lots
of much needed funds & awareness for the street children in Oaxaca.

I spent quite a bit of time with each shrine photo, enlarged, and they really are stunning! I can see some of your familiar touches and also some new ones--beautiful work. The winning bidders are going to be very pleased. What a great cause and how good of you to do your part!

I like the first one too - I love the simplicity of the design, and the Asian flavor you gave it with the color scheme and origami details. Very nice.

I'm glad you didn't wind up with any butt cramps from doing all that folding!

Hugs,

Kate

This is work with meaning - I hope too, that it raises sufficient money for the great cause you are supporting with your art. Congratulations!

Michelle, Both of your shrines are beauutiful!! I like them both very much, the bird and the black and white are very striking and the religious one looks like it was very time consuming....it is awesome.
A job well done for a great cause:)

I love what you've done! I especially like the origami birds - it is soooo you!

I just didn't have time to take on another project. My list is so long as it is.

I know you understand this as you too have a long list. :)

Very nice! I'm still crazy about the paper cranes, and I love the blue flower in the second one.

Fabulous shrines! I had imagined the 1st in black/orange (Halloween my fave) and thought that'd rock too with dangling ravens *swoons* *winks*
You are uber talented!

Well you have a good excuse for being late..you turned out two great shrines! I really like the first one with the cranes. When I was eleven the author of "Sadako and the 1000 paper crane"s came to our class and taught us how to make them. I have a fondness for them and what they represent.I use to be a sticker for being on time but that changed after having my son :) I'm a little behind on my OWOH giveaway but I'll be ready..eventually:)
