Anti V-Day Contest Entry

Who's surprised to hear that I waited till the very last day to get started on my entry? Yep, me neither. I had it in my head that I wanted to do a mock Valentine ... the front would be a happy image with the words, "thanks to you" in some large scripty font and then you'd open it and there'd be the words, "I've got a serious case of" and a picture of a burning heart ... get it? a serious case of heartburn ... bahaha ... at least I crack myself up. After many wooden matches and heartshaped pieces of crumpled paper, all I could get were these:

Not exactly what I was going for ... phooey.

So

with an hour to go (seriously close ... it's 11:49 as I type) I broke out some Bristol Board and a favorite black pen and some red ink ... the camera and some brightness manipulation (it's late and the light bites) ... here's my entry, "Restricted":

... phew! just by the skin of my teeth.

I'm up against some seriously amazing artists and their awesome contributions.

Wish me luck!

It's fantastic, I see it as a heart that's hard to get into but once something gets in... it's hard to get it back out! I wish I could have put that "poetical"(Thank you Firefly)but I'm toast much like your 1st hearts, I like those too! It feels like that...both are perfect! I must get some sleep...rough day! Sleep well! Misty

Nice. Who's going to be first to have it tattooed, I wonder?
Like Shoozles, I like them both - one clean, sharp, stellar graphic, and the other, well, the opposite. ;)

Ahhhh I would never be able to put anything together in an hour! I bow down to the queen of procrastination....and that really means something coming from me. (btw, I have a deadline tomorrow. I haven't even started and here I sit typing to you ;) )

Don't you hate when you see something perfect in your head but you just can't bring it to life. Most of my creations are like that. Little punks have a mind of their own!

Good Luck! I love your entry!

Good luck!!! I really love it and I also work better in a crunch. I spend a lot of time mulling over ideas and all of a sudden in falls into place and I'm in a state of aggitation until I work on it at that point!
I agree with glassgrrl, it would make a great tattoo
