Nothing Like Waiting Until The Last Minute ...

ok, not quite the last minute ... I'm about 23 hours and 35 minutes away from the very last minute ... *giggles* ... I must be tired as I can tell I'm a bit punchy. In an effort to avoid rambling for days, I'll get to the point. Remember the 2009 Diary Project that I signed up for? I posted my first design attempts on THIS post to get some feedback (I recieved such a great response and the feedback helped ... A LOT, so thank you). The format for the pages really threw me for a loop ... 1350X2400 Pixels in .jpg ... eek ... doesn't really translate to an 8.5x12 inch piece of paper very easily, but I think I figured it out (guess we'll really know when the project is complete and can hold a copy in our hands).

Anyway, here's what I just sent over:

In the last email that the project coordinator sent she mentioned that she still had pages that weren't taken. I didn't respond requesting another date, but I did go ahead and do another design ... I followed up my first email with a second one letting her know that if she was (is?) still looking for more designs and liked it, I could easily add the date ... this is the second design:

and on that note, I think it's time for bed.

I think they both look great, love the way you combined two of the designs from the earlier post.

I so wish I could draw freehand like this. I have a box of 50 sharpies that just sit and go unused. One day I will attempt a zentangle even if it looks like a 3 year old did it, at least I can say I tried - right?

Just thought I'd stop by after the party to see how you were recovering, it's no wonder you're better late than never after a wholeweek end of partying over at Vanessa's!

It looks fantastic! I have to admit I only sent mine last night, too but since I was sick all that time and I just haven't been very creative, I sent one of my older drawings!

Awesome! Hey, can you explain to me how to size it correctly? I was just going to scan in my 8.5X11 piece of paper and hope for the best. Are you saying that that will not work. I'm not very good with all the technological stuff...

Oh, and I, too, have to sleep with one foot out of the covers!!! Are we SISTERS or something???

I love the one you sent and I hope there's room for the second one too. They're both fabulous!
(I'm glad I wasn't the only one thrown off by the sizing thing--it was all new stuff for me!)

Hi- I was wondering if you'd share your email address and mailing address with me so I can send you your free gift (for leaving a comment on my blog). Everyone who left a comment between June 28th and July 1st gets a free present in honor of Vanessa Valencia's Fanciful Twist Tea Party! I haven't decided if I'm going to do a web gift or a snail mail gift so I need both. I promise I won't share your addresses with anyone else and I will only use them for this giveaway. I would like to keep them on file to give you future info on Flotsam and Jetsam happenings but I completely understand if you'd like me to toss your info after I send you your gift.
Thanks so much and have a happy 4th-
Stacey Newton

thanks, everyone ... the more I look at the designs, the more I like the second one, too. Ah well, chalk it up to a lesson learned (oh ... and I am still hoping that she might need to use it ... fingers crossed).

woohoooo! I was in touch with the person that's putting together the project &

1) I was able to resubmit the first image with the date & my blog address a little larger

&

2) She is using the second design ... here's the kicker, she gave me the date and it's my mom's birthday ... how cool is that?!?

These really came out great! I love the second one. I love the way the top tendril reaches across the top and then the design trails along the left side. WONDERFUL!
