Progress Report

5/26 update ... I keep playing with the medi box. The inside is officially fini'!

and now I am working on the outside ... wouldn't I have been a bit brighter to have painted the top BEFORE attaching the stone bits?!? (don't know the center stone, snowflake obsideon, turquoise, fresh water pearl -I think - garnet, more pearl, more turquoise) I will try to remember to plan a little bit better next time. *grins*

ps - anyone want to trade small tin box(es) for cigar box(es)?

I've been working on a little "pocket" shrine, but am a bit stuck. The inside doesn't feel finished to me (specifically the right as I was hoping to add a little dimension) and yet I am having issues adding more ... suggestions? I just might have to throw in the towel and call it a meditation box instead.

***************************************************************

I think my offering to grrl+dog's National Museum installation is done ... or nearly so ...

one side:

and the other:

the more I look at it, the more it seems to be wanting a little more. Indecisive, anyone?

***************************************************************

Right now I only have one person taking me up on making something for them in a Pay It Forward ... if anyone else is interested, please visit my previous post HERE

Happy Memorial Day to All!

Pocket shrine... this is just me ... I am particularly fond of swirls (spirals), joining time and energy and it would be (third) eyecatching to carry it over to the interior of your pocket shrine, since it's present on the top. It might be missing "undercover spirals"!Forgive me, I've had four cups of coffee and no breakfast yet. Love it what ever you decide!

I think your pocket shrine is great, you don't need to change anything! I love the colors on your museum piece, that will be amazing to see finished.

I think it looks great as well...
A meditation shrine is a wonderful thing also.

A pocket shrine. I never thought of such a thing, but I sure do like the idea.

I love your pocket shrine....and I think it is perfect just as it is. Perfection. The only thing to change, as your muse has whispered to you, is the name.
This is a meditation piece.
A tiny meditation mandala .
Very very lovely.

A meditation piece - definitely. Sometimes as we create, a slightly different path develops. As a meditation piece I think it is perfect!

As for the Installation piece, I'm wondering if you could pick up some of the pale green and blue at the one end and add abit
to the white border (embroidery, maybe?). I think it is fine as it is though *smiles*

I think your pocket shrine would make a great meditation piece--I find the beaded designs are very meditative just looking at them in your photo:)
Your contribution to the museum installation is lovely! I like the colors you chose a lot.
I hope you've had a good holiday weekend...hugs!

you know they say an artist's challenge is knowing when to stop.. I think they are both done, and it looks like a meditation box shrine allright. Bring it on!

Well, I don't know what you could possibly do to improve that little shrine. I think it's lovely. I think it's done. Same with the other, but I'm not a knitter, so...

As for pay it forward, I'm so behind on my reading, I will go check it out.

You keep rockin! It looks like the muse has taken you!

My solution would be to veil one side with a little netting or lace - so you would need to lift the curtain to see the inner mystery.

I kind of like what you did with the National Museum installation...especially when I enlarged it and read what you wrote!

Wonderful beading on the shrine, Michelle. I don't think you need to add a thing...it's beautiful! Shrine or meditation box...I like either one.

Your contribution for the museum is fantastic...love the colors, your embroidery and label too! Those poles are going to be BEAUTIFUL when adorned!

I hope you had a nice weekend too! One of these days, I'll be joining in on the fun! ~Lisa ;-)

Hi Michelle,

I love the idea of pocket shrines! I hope you get the embellishment angle figured out. I think they'll be amazing.

Thanks so much for your sweet words and support last week. I really needed it, and you helped a lot.
