4X4 Friday - 02/22/08 - Watercolor

The February 22 4X4 Friday challenge was .... Watercolor

I'm pretty sure that "watercolor" was just supposed to be an element, but I hadn't played with watercolors before, so after a lesson from the spouse (best egg around!) and a couple of tries, I ended up liking the watercolor pencils best. The above is my first (ever) watercolor ... I know that it's a really simple piece, but I was really pleased that the paper didn't end up a muddy river, that I couldn't bring myself to embelish it further ... I'm thinking that I'd like to play with watercolors a little more. :)

This is lovely! I've never done much with watercolors, either, which is why that last 4X4 stumped me a bit! =) But I realized how fun they are to use! =)

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment on my blog!

Hello, glad you stopped by. I did cheat a little on the fish name "whisper". My boys had a ton if ideas for their fish and I had NONE...so I looked around and low and behold the box for the pump said "whisper". I kinda like it though.

Cool watercolor. I've never played with them much either. Right now I'm into acrylics...oh what a mess!

If this is your first try, you should do more...it is lovely, juicy, and fresh...like a watercolor should be.

Thank you for the nice comment on my blog too.

I think you did a great picture and would never believe it's your first one! I like using watercolor pencils too. Especially when I want a little more control.

Love the colors, too!!
