lines, lines, lines

For as long as I have been able to hold a pen, I have loved lines ... straight, curved, crooked, hatched, circles, graph-like & patterns! Lately I have been on a Sharpie line-fest. Here are the latest creations:

OK, so now that I have this many (and it doesn't look like I'll be stopping anytime soon) ... what, exactly, am I supposed to do with all these little squares? ... the one that is 4X6 is being sent off in a birthday package for a friend, but the rest are just sitting in a zip lock baggie with a bunch of blank 4X4 squares.

These are so cool. They remind me of the designs on a bandana. You have some great art on your blog.

I love these! I often sit at night with paper and my Sharpies and just doodle. I should begin using the 4 x 4 paper, too.

These are awesome! I did something similiar once. I took a sharpie and scribbled all over the paper, then I colored in the lines. It was relaxing. Not quite as detailed as yours...lol

Gorgeous! try layering them over a bold solid color (turquoise) sort as a mat, and then framed in the 5 x 5 Ribba frames at IKEA, very mod!

These are truly fantastic! I haven't sat and just done line design in a while. I like doing henna-like designs which yours remind me of. I can see these squares printed on to fabric and made in to a black and white wall hanging. Do you sew? You could also glue them to something sturdy - punch holes in all four corners and insert eyelets. Then string them together with wire or cording and make something to hang that way too. Just a few things that occured to me. :)
Thanks for all your sweet comments on my blog!

I absolutely LOVE your line doodles (although I think they are MUCH more than doodles!!). Beautiful!

You could try your hand at embroidery...scan them, print them on water soluable paper, iron it to some cloth and use black and white - or even different colored floss to create a fiber image of what you've drawn. You can also use tracing paper to trace over your lines with a tranferable pencil, iron the paper to fabric and it will print the image on the fabric (this is usually the method I use).

Anyway - these are fantastic!!
